Termites & Other Wood Destroying Organisms
Many people don’t realize that termites aren’t the only wood-destroying organism that can cause damage to residences. Although subterranean termites usually cause the greatest structural damage, other pests such as carpenter ants, carpenter bees, borer beetles, and fungi can also be very destructive.
Often times damage from these sources is visible. For example, fungus is usually seen on the exterior wood of the home such as decks and patios. It’s also easy to spot carpenter bee damage because they drill round holes, often into the underside of wood fascia. But sometimes, damage isn’t visible until it’s a significant problem.
